Having aged several years since the release of the first book, I inevitably have lost my tween Twilight-induced fascination with vampires. However, during the years since the release of the first book of the series, I have faithfully continued reading the Vampire Academy Series and, unlike Twilight’s sequels, they have never failed to please and entrance me.<br /><br />While not the deepest of reads, the series has proved, book after book, to be as entrancing as the first book was to my easily-pleased teen mind. For as VA’s original readers aged, the main characters of the series were plagued with increasingly dangerous and adult-like problems throughout each book. As YA novels go, the Vampire Academy series inches toward the ever-pushed line between YA novels and adult novels.<br /><br />On that topic, I move to the last book in the series, Last Sacrifice. I’d longed for and dreaded the moment when I’d be finished reading the book. (On that note, there will be a VA spinoff series!). However, Richelle Mead tackles the daunting task of the final book with aplomb, bringing the characters lines to a semi-resolution while resolving the incensed love triangle of Dmitri-Aidan-Rose.<br /><br />Rose and her friends must overcome more derailing obstacles than they have ever tackled before. All of the much-loved characters as well as some unexpected ones are involved in the book. We also get to see Lisa grow more as a person and leader, once she is separate from Rose’s never-ending support.<br /><br />Adrian also grows as a character. First seen as an alcohol hitting, party guy, he continues his journey into becoming a man who the readers can see Rose with. This makes the competition between him and the Russian ex-Strigoi Dmitri all the more scintillating because it is impossible to decide which man truly belongs with Rose.<br /><br />Finally, the last book in the series is as exhilarating, if not more so, than the others with its unexpected thrills and plot twists. Overall, Last Sacrifice is an amazing conclusion to a terrific YA series. I sit here, literally at the edge of my seat, waiting for the spin-off series to be released.</span><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:'times new roman';"><br /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:'times new roman';">Rin</span></div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3570023834165616611.post-85982064693828084882011-02-06T11:47:00.001-08:002011-02-06T17:30:38.929-08:00Introduction<span class="Apple-style-span" style=" border-collapse: collapse; font-family:arial, sans-serif;font-size:13px;"><div class="im" style="color: rgb(80, 0, 80); "><p style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; font: normal normal normal 12px/normal Helvetica; "><span style="letter-spacing: 0px; "><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#000000;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:arial;">Hey!</span></span></span></span></p><p style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; font: normal normal normal 12px/normal Helvetica; min-height: 14px; "><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#000000;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:arial;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0px; "></span><br /></span></span></span></p><p style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; font: normal normal normal 12px/normal Helvetica; "><span style="letter-spacing: 0px; "><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#000000;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:arial;">Some of you may know us from </span></span></span><a href="http://readerrabbit.blogspot.com/" target="_blank"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#000000;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:arial;">readerrabbit.blogspot.com</span></span></span></a><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#000000;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:arial;">.
